This definition moves us away from the standard concepts of operating costs and product revenue , and allows for a more comprehensive, customer-centric mental model. As the product industry moves from "vanity" to "actionable metrics," it's not enough to executive email list say that Product A's monthly recurring revenue (MRR) or user growth or loss by X% is good to know, but It doesn't tell us why or what to do.
